The Varsity boys bowling team traveled to Crooked Creek lanes this past Saturday for a double match that was hosted by Swan Valley.
Match #1: Frankenmuth vs Freeland
The Eagles literally came out firing strike after strike in both Bakers taking them 186 to 165 and 232 to 124 and a commanding 10 point lead. The Strikes did not slow down as Senior Brian Farnsworth threw 11 of 12 possible strikes in the first Peterson giving him an incredible 279 game tying a school record he set last season. Senior Logan Pickelmann also chipped in with a nice 201 game as the Eagles ran away with a 29 to 1 victory over the Freeland Falcons.

Match #2 Frankemuth vs Bridgeport
The Eagles were trying to avenge a loss handed to them earlier this season by the Bearcats, who were only trailing the Eagles by one game in the standings as we entered the day. The Eagles again jumped out to a 10 point lead sweeping both Baker games 149 to 145 and 181 to 153
The Bearcats came storming back firing a lot of strikes in the first Peterson game winning it by 100 pins 875 to 775. The Eagles were down but not out and needed a spark from someone. As the last game was at the halfway point it found the Eagles trailing the Bearcats again by about 40 pins. Thats when our spark came from Senior Logan Pickelmann he started throwing strikes halfway threw the game and didn’t stop until the final 6 boxes all had X’s indicating strikes with a whopping 246 game. Zak Schmitzer, Hunter Garchow and Brian Farnsworth all had great 10th frames and the Eagles made up the distance in the end winning 864 to 845 and taking the match 18 to 12.
This was a big win for us to keep pace with the front runners and give ourselves a chance at the conference title heading into the last weekend of conference play next weekend.
Next Saturday we head to Valley Lanes in Midland and face off against the Panthers of Birch Run in match one and finish league play against Freeland.
