Frankenmuth survived a late scare by Standish-Sterling in holding on for a 54-50 victory. With the win, the Eagles improve to 4-0 on the season, including 2-0 in TVC East play. With ‘Muth up by 10 entering the fourth quarter, the Panthers extended their defense and caused a number of turnovers as they crept back into the game. With less than a minute remaining in the game, Frankenmuth was able to break the press and forced Standish to foul. Senior Brooklin Karwat stepped to the line and knocked down both free throws to increase the Eagles’ lead to four points. Following a time-out, the Panthers were unable to score as the clock ran out and Frankenmuth held on for the victory.

Brooklin Karwat led the Eagles with 14 points, including 4-4 from the FT line in the final quarter. Freshman Lexi Boyke also finished with 14 points and hauled down a season-high 13 rebounds for the first double-double of her high school career. Laney Soulliere and Zoey Persails each finished with 9 points apiece.

Freshman Macey Fegan paced the Panthers with a game-high 20 points, while junior center, Elle Adrian added 14 points.

The Eagles are off until next Friday night when they travel to Bridgeport to take on the Bearcats. The girls tip-off at 6:00, with the boys to follow.
