In a critical TVC East match-up between undefeated conference teams, Essexville Garber was the better team that day. Their disciplined style of play from the start of the game put Frankenmuth in a hole quickly as they fell behind 2-0 in the first 15 minutes of play. The Eagles regrouped and finished the half strong and then discussed needed changes at halftime. Early in the second, Courtney Keyes converted on a penalty kick to bring the Eagles within striking range at 2-1. Within a few minutes, Essexville would get a third goal and make the Frankenmuth come back all the more difficult. As the Eagles continued to develop offensive pressure in the second half, Garber was able to counter quickly and pick up two more security goals. Essexville is a very solid and disciplined team, and heading into the second half of the season they are the team on top and everyone else is chasing them for the conference crown.
