After a disappointing loss to Garber last week, Frankenmuth realized that if they are to claim a conference title, they will need to win out in the second half of conference play. Their quest was to start that journey with a victory against the Millington Cardinals. Frankenmuth would get the game winner just two minutes into the game when Baylee Stainforth dribbled through numerous defenders to drive a hard shot past the keeper into the lower corner of the goal. Twenty minutes would go by before Frankenmuth would pick up their next goal. Courtney Keyes sent an accurate through pass to Alaina Soulliere who beat the last defenders and keeper to get the security goal. Numerous adjustments were discussed, and the coaching staff threw down a challenge to the team to step up their game and finish this half strong. Frankenmuth came out strong, however it would be twenty minutes before the goals would start coming. Courtney sent in a driven corner kick to Madeline Walter who headed it past the keeper into the goal. This seemed to be the spark that Frankenmuth needed. Minutes later, Courtney would connect up with Sophia Lee who drove a controlled shot into the back of the goal. Within two minutes, Alaina made a remarkable deep centering pass to Elyse Schmitt who bodied the ball past the keeper. Courtney would next connect up with Alaina with a great through ball and Alaina beat the keeper with a controlled shot into the far post corner of the goal. One minute later, Baylee found Courtney open 22 yards out from goal , and she finished a hard shop past the keeper into the corner of the goal. The final goal came when Courtney sent a chip over the top to Katy Schuler who then made a great centering pass to Alaina. She finish with a strong lower shot into the corner of the goal. Frankenmuth now prepares to host third place Birch Run for a critical conference game on Thursday.
