The Lady Eagles closed out the regular season with a win tonight against a scrappy St. Charles squad. The game started out poorly for the ‘Muth as the Bulldogs knocked down four three-pointers in the opening quarter to get out to a hot start. Both squads played evenly in the second quarter and the Bulldogs took a surprising seven-point lead into the break.
The Eagles came out with much more energy in the second half, as they outscored St. Charles 17-5 in the third quarter. That margin proved to be the difference as the home team held on to close-out a close, 43-35 victory.
Kelynn Kujat led all scorers with a game-high 14 points, including four makes from beyond the arc. Kelynn also finished with 5 assists and 5 steals. Fellow junior Sydney Merrihew chipped in with 9 points, all coming in the second half. Claire Breinager hauled down a team-high 7 rebounds, with Kylie Jaeger also collecting 5 boards.
