The Lady Eagles survived a scare at home from the Bridgeport Bearcats, escaping with a 50-42 win. On multiple occasions, Frankenmuth built a double-digit lead only to see Bridgeport make a run of their own to close the gap. In the end, though, the Eagles made enough plays to seal the victory and set up a big TVC East showdown with Garber on Tuesday night. The Dukes currently own a one-game lead on the Eagles atop the standings.
In tonight’s game, junior guard Kelynn Kujat knocked down four three-pointers to set the school record for most threes made in a career (128). She broke Karly (Bethune) Bernthal’s record, one that stood for nearly 20 years. Congratulations Kelynn!
In addition to Kelynn’s team-high 18 points, fellow junior Brooklin Karwat chipped in with 8 points and collected 8 steals.
Bridgeport’s Destiny Manley earned game-high honors, finishing with 19 points for the Bearcats.
