Frankenmuth pounded out 17 hits and the combined pitching of Emily Coulter and Shea Hecht and 2 more Home Runs beat New Lothrop 16-6 in a 6 inning mercy win. The big inning was the bottom of the third when the Lady Eagles scored 11 runs. The Home Runs hit were by two freshman. Nicole Rodammer hit a three run home run in the third, her first career varsity home run. In the same inning, Faith Breinager hit a 3 run home run, her 4th of the year. The team now has hit a total of 32 home runs compared to 29 hit all of last year.
Kaylee Kujat had 3 hits. Bethany Karwat, (Double, 3 runs), Emily Coulter (Double), Claire Breinager (Double, 2 RBI), Faith Hippensteel (Double) and Nicole Rodammer (Home Run, 3 RBI) all had 2 hits. Faith Breinager(Home Run, 3 RBI), Aubrie Jacob (Double, RBI), Brooke Dietrich, and Tara Keller all had one hit each.
Emily Coulter improved her record to 14-5. and the team record is 24-11. The Eagles will host the final three games on Saturday in their invitational which will begin at 10:00.
We have now won 6 of our last 7 games. We seemed to be getting back on track now, both offensively and defensively. This was a game we needed from Emily on the mound as she struggled in a few games last week but was sharp with her control and pitch location today.
