The Frankenmuth Bowling Program played host this past weekend to the Trial Valley East Conference at Alert Lanes in Essexville Garber.
Match 1: Match one found Frankenmuth up against Alma
The Eagles wasted no time taking a 10 to nothing lead sweeping the Baker games with good spare shooting. Then in the first Peterson the Eagles fired away winning by 155 pins
being led by senior Brian Farnsworth 180 and Junior Hunter Garchow 179. The Eagles continued to dominate the second Peterson winning by over 200 pins and taking the match
27 1/2 to 2 1/2 .
The Eagles had no time to enjoy a big win because there rival Birch Run Panthers were waiting in the wings. This is the first time this season the two have faced each other.
Baker number one was another example of good spare shooting as strikes were hard to come by and the Eagles took it 165 to 138. The Panthers bounced right back firing a four bagger and took the second 184 to 168. The eagles took Baker totals and a 6 to 4 lead into the Peterson’s. Peterson Number one turned out to be a strike fest ! Sophomore Cameron Severs started the game with his first 7 strikes but was matched by 3 panthers also firing strikes which turned out to be to much for the Eagles winning the game 965 to 821. There was no quit in the Eagles as Senior Logan Pickelmann stepped up and threw a clean 198 game and Hunter Garchow fired a 210 on an oil pattern that was deteriorating rapidly. Garchow threw key strikes in the 10th frame to give the Eagles a 7 pin peterson win 861 to 854. But when the final scores were tallied the Panthers won 6 of the 10 points in the head head portion giving them a 16 to 14 victory.
