The Frankenmuth Boys Varsity Bowling team traveled to Sanford to Northern Lanes to participate in the Trial Valley Championships this past Friday and Saturday. Friday was the team event that found all 16 teams from the Tri- Valley going up against each other. The oil pattern we were facing was the most difficult we had seen all season. All teams were struggling out of the gate in the 3 baker games. The eagles capitalized on good spare shooting to be tied for 2nd and only 15 pins behind 1st place Garber at the end of the Bakers. The eagles then went into the remaining 2 Peterson games with good momentum and the lead off man Cameron Severs carried us most of that game firing a nice 177 game.
The rest of the team struggled a little but still made enough spares to hold our position for the most part, we were only 34 pins behind Garber with one game left. This has been a weakness of ours this season trying to finish strong ! We just could not find that last gear it takes to make a run. The Eagles lost there momentum about the third frame and never really recovered as other teams around them made runs the eagles could not keep up.
The eagles dropped to 8th place the last game for a little bit of a disappointing finish.
The Garber Dukes finished 138 pins ahead of the Eagles to win the Title.

Saturday Day 2: Saw the Eagles 7 bowlers face off in a field of 98 Bowlers in the singles competition. Right away Hunter Garchow shined with a 210 first game and Brian Farnsworth with a 176. Game two found Cameron severs firing a nice 178 and Garchow also stayed consistent with a 169. With only a game left Hunter Garchow focused and threw one of his best games of the year on a oil pattern that was breaking down fast finishing with a 193 that put him in the TOP 10 in 10th place earning a medal.
The Eagles will take what we learned this weekend into the Regionals next Saturday at Alert Lanes in Bay City.

Also three Eagles were recognized for winning all conference honors. Cameron severs was recognized for Honorable Mention, Brian Farnsworth and Hunter Garchow Received First team all conference medals.
