The Eagles boys bowling team traveled to Ithaca to participate in the 10 team Jimmy K Invitational tournament this past Saturday. During qualifying the eagles threw 6 Baker games and one Peterson game moving lanes throughout. The eagles qualified fourth and made the cut to the final 4 teams where they faced top seed and host Ithaca. The match was two Bakers and one Peterson with total pinfall moving on to the championship round.
The Eagles threw Baker games of 170 and 171 to take a 17 pin lead into the Peterson game.
Cameron severs continued his consistent lead off roll pacing the team with a 177, Logan Pickelmann lead the way with a 201, Hunter Garchow 176, Brian Farnsworth 176, Zach Schmitzer 166 giving the Eagles a win over the host by over 50 pins.
Consistency and spare shooting was the Key for us in this match we had close to 50 marks this game (a total team effort). The Eagles moved on to the Championship Match vs the St.Charles Bulldogs…St.Charles came out firing strikes and never really gave up a solid lead. There number 4 bowler had his first 8 strikes and shot 258 against us. We bowled good but they stepped up and bowled great. Brian Farnsworth 192, Logan Pickelmann 187, Cameron severs 176
We had a very good solid day aside from a few subpar baker games early on. Our spare shooting got us this far, Im extremely happy with the work and improvement we have shown over the past week.
