The Fortress Golf Course is one of the top golf courses in the state. It has a slope/rating of 70.8/129 totaling 6,271 yards from the maroons. It challenges golfers of every ability. Add 30 mile per hour wind gusts into the equation, and you create a very challenging place to play.

The Frankenmuth Golf team took to their home course Friday, being challenged not only by the course, but by the conditions as well. They finished mid pack in the 15 team tournament scoring a 386.

Eric Nielsen led the way for the Eagles shooting a team low 88. Nielsen had a solid 42 on the front and ended the day with 6 pars.

Andrew Zuniga shot the next best with a 96. He shot 48 and 48 on the front and back, parring holes 6 and 10.

Caden Piesko added a 99 to the team score. Despite having some grip issues on his first tee box, he was able to stay focus. He also parred two holes.

Andrew Hoesman added to the team scoring shooting a 103. Hoesman parred the second hole and had a very nice birdie on hole 15.

Other golfers that competed in the tournament were Brendan Lenhard, Cameron Larrison, Nick Hoesman, and Joey Furbush.

Larrison chipped in for birdie on 14 and sunk a long putt on 17 for his second birdie of the day. Larrison shot a personal best 97.
