The Frankenmuth Eagles traveled to Portland in a Regional Final contest and lost 40 – 6 to the Raiders. The first quarter was scoreless but Portland got on the board after an Eagle turnover on a Jake Veale 9-yard run. On the ensuing possession, the Eagles answered back scoring on a Conner Campbell 2-yard run, but the failed PAT left the Eagles trailing 7 – 6. Turnovers was the downfall of the Eagles in the remainder of the quarter, as the Raiders scored two more times taking a 21 – 6 halftime lead. Portland dominated the 2nd half scoring three TD’s as the Eagles continued to be plagued by turnovers. Frankenmuth was out gained in total yards 298 to 156. Drew Martin was the leading tackler with 14 followed by Nate Stone with 13 and Chris Mills 13. The Eagles ended the season with a 9 – 3 record, a Tri-Valley East and District championship. Frankenmuth is one of only thirteen teams in the state to win three consecutive District Championships in 2016, 2017 and 2018.
