The Frankenmuth Eagles football team upped its record to 5 – 0 for the season with a 41 – 6 win over the Birch Run Panthers. The Eagles jumped out to a 6 – 0 lead at the 6:03 mark of the 1st quarter on a Daniel Barger 1 yard run. After the defense forced the Panthers to punt on the ensuing possession, Eagle quarterback Davin Reif connected with Riley Roy on a 71-yard TD pass and Seth Malmo added the PAT for 13 – 0 lead. Reif was a part of all three 2nd quarter scores, with rushing TD’s of 5 and 57 yards and a 14 yard TD pass to Nick Trombley and Frankenmuth had a commanding 34 – 0 halftime lead. Early in the 3rd quarter, Konnor Roche got into the scoring column on a 2-yard score. Birch Run would score their lone TD of the game midway through the 4th quarter on a Kahleel Brown 25 yard run. The Eagles totaled 390 yards of total offense while limiting the Panthers to 116 yards. Reif was 10 of 14 passing for 182 yards with Roy grabbing 4 receptions for 96 yards. Reif and Lindow were the leading rushers with 85 yards each. Dalton DeBeau were the leading tackler with 6 and Cole Jankowski intercepted a pass and returned it for 50 yards. Frankenmuth will wrap up the regular season next week when they host the Bridgeport Bearcats.
