The first match on Saturday the Eagles faced the undefeated Garber Dukes at Stardust Lanes on the challenging Allen Pattern. The Eagles started out in the hole, losing both baker matches 148-152 and 146-177. Losing both baker games did not deflate the team. All of the boys pulled together and rolled an 845 Peterson to Garber’s 831. Brian Farnsworth lead the way with a 214 game, Michael Schluckbier had a 200 game and Logan Pickelmann, with a 186 game. Going into the second Peterson, the boys worked hard as a team and were able to shoot a 832 game to Garber’s 824 game. It came down to the final frame and Hunter Garchow was able to cover his spare to win the game. Hunter finished with a 188 game and Brian Farnsworth had a strong 202 game. Eagles won both Peterson games and gave us enough points to win the match 16 to 14.
The second match we faced Nouvel. Eagles came out strong on by winner both baker games, 170 to 100 and 179 to 98. The boys continued to battle through the tough oil pattern Saturday defeating Novel 30 to 0. Brian Farnworth lead the way with a 203 and 171 game, Logan Pickelmann with a 200 game and Ryan Hauck with a 168 game.
I was very proud of the boys this weekend. It is very tough to come back and win a match after losing both baker games early on. They didn’t give up and kept focusing on picking up their spares and making good shots. Next week the Eagles host at Candlelite Bowl starting at noon. The first match against the Carrolton Cavaliers and second match against Bridgeport Bearcats.
The JV Boys competed this weekend at Candlelite Bowl. The first match the Eagles fell to Bay City John Glenn Bobcats 12 to 18. The second match the Eagles fell to Reese Rockets 9 to 21. The boys continue to improve overall. High games for the matches included Michael Carter 180 game, Jacob Ahejew 165 game, Zachery Schmitzer 157 game and Alec Martin 147 game.
