Frankenmuth JV soccer traveled to Linden on April 29 and took on a combined team of the Linden Eagles and the Schwartz Creek Dragons. Both schools have strong soccer programs but were short players for each to have a JV team. Their combination created an excellent challenge for the Frankenmuth ladies. The Muth Eagles were able to withstand early pressure with the defense of Maliya Jammer, Rachel Galsterer, Amy Kern and Josie Guinther forcing the Eagle-Dragons into tough shots which were strongly handled by Ashlyn Peterson. Frankenmuth was able to gain control of the game and created opportunities of their own with central players of Charlotte Hill, Abril Shobbrock and Keira Kern. The teams played to a 0-0 half time score. In the second half the aggressive play of Linden/Creek caught up with Frankenmuth. The Eagle-Dragons were able to get four goals past the Muth team for a 4-0 win. Ashlyn Peterson, despite the four goals, was outstanding in net. Without her excellent play in goal the final score would have been much different. Down to one substitute, the Frankenmuth ladies were again asked to play new roles, and more minutes. Neely Cornelius and Kendal Oster both played well rotating between midfield and forward. The Eagles travel to Valley Lutheran on Friday, April 30 to take on the Chargers.
