Frankenmuth competed in the annual Tri Valley Conference Tournament, which brought together the top 6 teams in both the TVC East and West divisions. The 12-team tournament began with competitive power pools matching up East and West teams with the same regular season standing for seeding the teams into bracket play. Frankenmuth was matched against Hemlock in its first match of the day. Despite not playing to their potential, the Eagles came away with a win 25-19, 25-18. The Eagles played much better in their second match of the day against St. Charles, winning 25-10, 25-14. In what was a re-match of last Wednesday’s final TVC East match of the regular season, the Eagles faced Birch Run (seeded #1 having defeated Valley Lutheran for that spot) in a quarterfinal match. The Eagles were prepared and took an early 8-2 lead. The Panthers would rally back to eventually overtake the Eagles 19-25. The second set was also competitive, but Birch Run won 17-25., taking the match. Birch Run would go on to defeat Freeland in the final match of the day to win the tournament.
