Boys Junior Varsity Soccer, Boys Varsity Soccer · FHS Boys’ Varsity Soccer falls to determined North Branch

Frankenmuth Vs North Branch, Wednesday, 20-Sep-17

North Branch only had 4 shots on goal, but made 3 of them count. At the end of the day, their efficiency trumped Muth having 9 shots on frame, but only converting 2.

Even in losses there are things to celebrate. The two goals FHS scored came from players coming off the bench; Kobe Hopkins 1 and Brady Kern 1. Almost scoring the equalizer came from Connor Smith when he beat the goalie with a shot to the far post, but last ditch heroics from a North Branch defender was able to deflect the shot away from the goal.

In what was our 6th game in 7 days, it was so important that our support players came in and provided the energy needed to stay with a determined North Branch team. In the end, the North Branch team was able to play long balls to their players up top and create the one on one’s with our goalie. You have to respect their efficiency. They worked very hard to win this game. The return match is at Frankenmuth. This should be an awesome game!
