Frankenmuth High School
Frankenmuth opened up the day playing Imlay City in the Eagle Memorial Classic. The Eagles took game 1 by the score of 7-1. Emily Coulter was the winning pitcher and her line was 7 IP, 2 BB, 4 SO, 4 H, 0 ER
Imlay City scored a run in the top of the first but that was all they could muster for the rest of the game. Meanwhile, the Eagles did not score until the 3rd inning. With one out, Kyle Wilson singled. Madison Jammer reached on an error. Kaylee Kujat doubled home a run and Emily Coulter followed with a 2 run single making the score 3-1. Mya Bellinger also singled home a run as the other run scored by Laura Farnsworth was unearned. In the 4th inning, Madison Jammer led off with a single, stole second and came home on 2 wild pitches. The Eagles finished the scoring in the 5th inning as Mya Bellinger singled home a run.
It was a good start for us. We battled against their relief pitcher who mixed speeds very well. We only got to her for one run but it was more than enough. In the other game 1, Mt Pleasant defeated Grosse Point Liggett 10-0.
Emily Coulter led the offense with 3 hits (2 RBI). Hannah Karwat, and Mya Bellinger (2 RBI) each had two hits. Kaylee Kujat (double), Kylie Wilson and Madison Jammer (2 runs scored) each had one hit.
