Game Recap

The Eagles took the long drive to Lakeville to continue the TVC season. A slow start for the Eagles put them behind early. A hit batter to start the top of the first was then sacrificed to second and a 2 out single put the Falcons up 1-0.
The Eagles wasted no time squaring the game back up. Nick Hartman started the inning off with a single. Kyle Robinson walked then Jackson Mahnke singled to load the bases. An errant throw on a pick off play scored Hartman, then a walk to Joby Ostrofsky reloaded the bases. A fielders choice play on a grounder to short put runners on the corners and scored Kyle Robinson to put the Eagles up 2-1. Another error at first allowed Mahnke to score from third and the Eagles led 3-1.
A lead off double and 2 ground outs plated another Falcon runner to make it 3-2 at the end of the second inning. Then 2 singles, a walk and a hit batter brought 2 Lakeville runners home and gave them the 5-3 lead. In the 5th Lakeville put together 2 singles to take a 6-3 lead through 5 innings.
In the top of the 6th the Eagles ralleyed. Joby Ostrofsky singled with 1 out, then moved to second on a single by Dan Szczepanski. Zach Freier then singled to score Joby and bring Dan around to 3rd. Luke Scharrer came in to run for Freier and motored all the way to third on a single by Connor Campbell that brought Szczepanski home to make it a 1 run game. Danny Mills doubled to right and drove Luke home to tie the game and Campbell came around to third. Austin Johnson came in to run for Mills and scored along with Campbell on an error by the shortstop to take an 8-6 lead.
The Eagles tacked on an insurance run in the 7th when Kyle Robinson walked and Joby Ostrofsky hit a triple to drive Kyle home.
