Frankenmuth finished the sweep with a 15-4 win pounding out 12 hits and 28 hits for the two games. Madison Jammer got the nod in game 2 and earned the win allowing 5 hits, 0 walks, and 1 earned run.
Down 2-0, Frankenmuth came back with 3 of their own in the bottom of the 1’st. Kaylee Kujat led off with a double and ended up coming home on a fielders choice off the bat of Hannah Karwat. A sacrifice fly by Megan Jarlock knocked in another run while Laura Farnsworth (walk) scored on a wild pitch. The Eagles came back and scored 3 more in the 2nd inning. Kaylee Kujat tripled in 2 runs and came home on a suicide squeeze bunt by Emily Coulter. In the 4th inning, RBI’s by a double from Kaylee Kujat, single from Emily Coulter, a sacrifice fly by Hannah Karwat and Laura Farnsworth singled home the last run.
The 5th inning was similar to the 4th. The Eagles scored 5 times and finished the game off with the mercy win. An RBI single by Kaylee Kujat and Hannah Karwat scored two runs and the game ended when Laura Farnsworth hit a 3 run Home Run her 6th of the year.
Kaylee Kujat went 4-4 (triple, 2 doubles, 4 runs) and went 6-9 for the day. Laura Farnsworth, (Home Run, 4 RBI) had 2 hits. Emily Coulter(2 walks, 2 RBI), Hannah Karwat (3 RBI), Megan Jarlock, Claire Breinager, Mya Bellinger (3 runs), and Madison Jammer all had one hit.
“The one thing that stood out in this game was how our girls batted with two strikes on them. We fouled off pitches and eventually put the ball in play. We carried over a good practice yesterday onto the field today and we played with a high level of energy.”
Frankenmuth now is 9-3 in the conference and 22-4 for the year as we reached our win total from all of last year. Frankenmuth will host their second tournament this Saturday taking on #9 ranked Dundee in division 3, Heritage, and Honorable Mention in division 2, Freeland.
