Frankenmuth traveled to Lakeville for a conference game and looking to get back on the winning trail after losing 3 of their last 5 games and the Eagles did in a big way winning game 1, 12-0 in 5 innings.
Emily Coulter struck out a season high 8 batters, walking 1 and giving up 1 hit. Frankenmuth struck first scoring 4 runs in the top of the second. Megan Jarlock led off the inning with a solo home run, her 4th of the year to start the scoring. Claire Breinager singled and went to second on an error by the left fielder and came home on an RBI single by Mya Bellinger. Madison Jammer got on base with a fielders choice, stole second and came home on a single by Kaylee Kujat. Kujat stole second and third and came home for the fourth run when Emily Coulter singled her home. In the 3rd inning Frankenmuth scored 6 runs. RBI singles by Claire Breinager, 2 run scoring single by Kayle Kujat and a sacrifice fly by Emily Coulter produced 4 runs. Laura Farnsworth capped off the scoring with a 2 run home run, her 5th of the year. The last two runs were scored when Shea Hecht got her first varsity RBI walking with the bases loaded and Madison Jammer had a run scoring single in the 5th to finish the scoring for the Eagles.
Emily Coulter went 3-3 with a sacrifice fly, Kaylee Kujat (3 RBI, 2 SB), Megan Jarlock (Home Run, Double), Claire Breinager, Mya Bellinger and Madison Jammer (2 runs) all had 2 hits. Hannah Karwat, Laura Farnsworth (Home Run, 2 RBI), and Kylie Wilson had one hit each.
“This was the type of game we were playing in the first half of the year, solid hitting, good pitching, good defense and aggressive on the base paths. Hopefully this gives us confidence for our next tournament this coming Saturday.”
