A single, an error and a wild pitch put Lakers up on top 1-0 and a couple walks and a hit batter seemed to spell trouble for the Eagles, but 2 strike outs ended the inning before any more damage could be made.
Nick Hartman led the Eagle attack in the bottom of the 2nd, drawing a 1 out walk. An error on a pick-off let Nick move to second and Kyle Robinson knocked him home.
The Eagles squandered a bases loaded with nobody out situation in the bottom of the 3rd and Lakers made them pay. Back to back singles put Lakers up 2-1 in the top of the 4th. The Eagles drew 2 walks in the bottom of the 4th, putting Mahnke and Freier on base. Mahnke tried to take advantage of a ball that bounced in the dirt and steal third. The throw went into left field, and Mahnke was able to score and tie the game at 2.
Back to back singles gave Lakers the go ahead run and the 3-2 lead. The Eagles got a base runner in the final innings, but couldn’t more him around to tie the game.
5 Eagles each picked up hits in the game. Kyle Robinson kept his hot bat going with a 1-3 game with an RBI. Freier, Campbell, Mills and Szczepanski also picked up a hit.
Danny Mills took no decision on the start throwing 4 innings, giving up 7 hits, 2 runs, 1 earned and walking 2 while striking out 4.
Austin Johnson got the loss in relief throwing 3 innings and giving up 1 run, 0 earned, 2 hits and a walk while striking out 2.
