Frankenmuth High School
The Eagles came out ready to play in game 2 and jumped out to an early lead. Joby Ostrofsky singled to left with one out and Austin Notter followed him up with a single to right that moved Joby all the to third. A grounder to the pitcher got Joby thrown out at home, but put runners on first and second. Jackson Mahnke singled to right field and Austin Notter scored and Garrett Rezmer advanced all the way to third base. A passed ball allowed Rezmer to score and give the Eagles a 2-0 lead.
With 2 outs and nobody on in the 3rd the Mustangs strung together 3 singles to load the bases and a hit batter forced in a run to shrink the Eagles lead to 2-1.
An error on a fly ball to start off the bottom of the 4th put the lead off runner on second. The Mustangs bunted the runner to third and a double tied the game at 2. Clio followed the double up with an RBI single to take the 3-2 lead before Trombley could induce 2 pop outs to end the inning.
2 lead off singles in the bottom of the 5th, followed by a sacrifice fly gave the Mustangs a 4-2 lead. A double drove in another Clio run and the Eagles trailed 5-2. Kyle Robinson then threw out a runner attempting to steal third and Kevin Heinzman entered the game in relief and struck out the batter to end the inning.
In the top of the 6th the Eagles got back in the game. Kyle Robinson singled with 2 outs and Derrek Humpert enter the game to run for Kyle. Humpert took second on a passed ball and scored when Ben Schuler singled to right. Dan Szczpanski singled to keep the rally going, but a strike out with runners in scoring position and the top of the line-up at the plate ended the inning.
Kevin Heinzman kept the comeback hopes alive with a quick 1,2,3 bottom of the 6th. Danny Mills and Joby Ostrofsky started the top of the 7th off with back to back singles and after a strike out Garrett Rezmer walked to load the bases. Jackson Mahnke singled to score Mills and make it a 1 run game, but an infield fly and a ground out ended the game and the comeback hopes.
Several Eagles picked up multiple hits.

Joby Ostrofsky picked up his first 2 Varsity hits going 2-3 with a walk.
Jackson Mahnke went 2-4 with 2 RBI’s
Austin Notter went 1-3 picking up his first varsity hit as well.
Stan Trombley picked up the loss throwing 4 1/3 innings giving up 10 hits and 5 runs, 4 earned while walking 1.
Kevin Heinzman closed the game out throwing 1 2/3 innings striking out 1 and giving up no walks, hits or runs.
