A long weekend off let the Eagles come back refreshed after a tough 2 weeks that included several long away games and a back to back to back stretch that took a toll on our pitchers.
The game started roughly for the Eagles. A first pitch hit batter put a runner on, who was then sac bunted to second, then took third on a wild pitch and scored on a dropped third strike that made it to the backstop for the 1-0 lead.
The Eagles answered when Zach Freier was hit on the first pitch of the game. Connor Campbell walked and Freier took third on a passed ball. Campbell stole second and a passed ball brought Freier home to tie the game. Danny Mills singled to move Campbell to third. Kevin Heinzman came in to run for Mills and quickly stole second then scored along with Campbell when Garrett Rezmer singled. Nick Hartman then drove a double into the gap that brought Rezmer, who was stealing with the pitch, all the way around to score. Kyle Robinson then doubled to score Hartman. After 2 pop outs Dan Szczepanski singled and moved Robinson to third. Szczepanski stole second and an error by the second baseman allowed Robinson and Szczepanski to score and make the lead 7-1.
3 walks, a single and a fielders choice plated 2 more Nouvel runners before a Panther runner got caught leaning off third and was tagged out after a pickle to end the inning.
Garrett Rezmer doubled with one out in the 2nd. A single by Kyle Robinson brought Rezmer to third and a 2 out single by Jackson Mahnke scored Rezmer to make it an 8-3 game.
An error on a grounder let Zach Freier reach second in the 3rd inning. Then with 2 outs Danny Mills singled to score Freier. Kevin Heinzman came in to courtesy run for Mills and scored on a single by Rezmer to make it a 10-3 game.
Joby Ostrofsky walked in the 4th with 1 out then took third on a failed double play that scooted into right field. Kevin Heinzman laid down a beautiful bunt on a safety squeeze with Szczepanski running from first. Joby scored easily on the play and Szczepanski took third on the throw to first. After getting the out at first the Panter first baseman made the throw to third to get Dan and it skipped past the third baseman allowing Dan to go all the way home to score making it a 12-3 game. Danny Mills then singledto left to score Connor Campbell who had walked and stole second prior to Danny’s at bat.
With the score 13-3 in the top of the third Nouvel needed to score to fend off the mercy. After a lead off strike out, a walk and a single scored a run with the help of a passed ball. Johnson then struck out another batter before an infield error and a single scored 2 more runs to make it a 13-6 game.
The Eagles followed suit by striking out to start the inning then getting a single from Stan Trombley and a walk from Joby Ostrofsky. A passed ball moved both runners up and a ground out by Szczepanski scored Trombley from third to make it 14-6.
A lead off walk by Johnson got him to his pitch cap for the night and Stan Trombley came in to finish the inning off with a couple ground outs and a strike out.
In the bottom of the inning Campbell walked and Mills singled to advanced Campbell to third. Luke Scharrer came in for Mills and stole second. Nick Hartman walked to load the bases and after a strike out, Stan Trombley knocked a single to score Campbell and Scharrer and get the 16-6 win.

Danny Mills also went 4-5 with 2 RBI’s
Stanley Trombley went 2-2 with 2 RBI’s and a walk.
Nick Hartman went 2-4 with a walk, RBI and a double.
