A walk, single and a ground out for the Laker’s offense started the scoring in the bottom of the second giving the Lakers a 1-0 lead.
The Eagles tied the game up in the top of the 5th. Kyle Robinson singled to start the inning. A single Jackson Mahnke sent Austin Johnson, who was running for Robinson, to third. A ground out to third pushed Johnson home to tie the game at 1.
A walk and a couple singles in the bottom of the 5th put Lakers back on top 2-1. A walk and a double plated an insurance run for Lakers, making the score 3-1.
The Eagle bats came to life in the top of the 7th. Kyle Robinson again sparked the offense with a lead off double. Jackson Mahnke followed him up with a single that drove Kyle home. Then a single by Ben Schuler knocked Mahnke home to tie the game at 3. A single by Zach Freier put runners on first and second. A ground out to the pitcher by Danny Mills scored another run and put the Eagles up 4-3. Garrett Rezmer gave the Eagles some breathing room with a double that scored Campbell from second to make the score 5-3.
Kevin Heinzman took the mound in the bottom of the 7th and quickly struck out the first batter, then gave up a single. A ground out put the Eagles in good shape, but back to back walks loaded the bases for Lakers, but Kevin slammed the door shut with a strike out to end the inning.
Jackson Mahnke led the Eagles hitters going 2-2 with a walk and an RBI.
Kyle Robinson also had a multi-hit game going 2-3 with a double.
Connor Campbell also went 2-4 with a run scored.
Nick Hartman picked up the win throwing 6 innings giving up 8 hits and 3 runs, walking 3 and striking out 4.
Kevin Heinzman gets the save throwing an inning walking 2, giving up 1 hit and striking out 2.
