|Today the Frankenmuth High School Girl’s Golf Team played in their third Tri Valley Conference jamboree. They shot a team score of 219 which landed them a 5th place finish for the day. Although farther down the leaderboard than they would have liked, the day provided several highlights in addition to valuable experience for the team’s newer players.Sophomore Shayna Schneider and junior Carly McMartin both shot a 49 which tied them for 6th place in the event. This was a special day for Carly because it was her first time breaking into the 40s in a competitive event.
Junior Abby Vaughn had the lowest number of putts on the team for the day on her way to shooting a 57.
Sophomores Ann Curtis and Audrey Blegen got their feet wet for the first time in high school competitive golf. They shot a 64 and 70 respectively. Sophomore Paige LaBrenz rounded out the afternoon with a score of 79. All three of these developing players had great attitudes throughout the match.
The Frankenmuth Girl’s Golf Team plays again on Wednesday, August 28th at the Think Pink Chesaning Invitational 18 hole tournament.
